Somewhere in time and space, the dark god Unicron and his minions invade a jungle world populated by Maximals. When Noah Díaz, a struggling young man trying to provide for his family, is roped into a conflict between the marooned Autobots and the recently arrived Terrorcons, he must learn to work with weary Autobot leader Optimus Prime so they, with the help of the wise Maximals and the unadventurous researcher Elena Wallace, can stop the arrival of the planet-eater Unicron. Originally expected to be released on June 28, 2019, the film was delayed multiple times until finally being released on June 9, 2023.
